Zimbabwe wants to export ethanol in Africa


Ethanol production facility called Chisumbanje Ethanol, an association between the Agrarian Development Authority of Zimbabwe and MACDOM Investments and Rating, situated in the east of the country, is getting buyers attention in other African countries such as South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana , Zambia and Malawi.

The unit has a capacity to process 374,000 liters of ethanol per day.

The country currently consumes approximately 70,000 liters per day, leaving a surplus of 304,000 liters, opening for possibility of selling to other neighboring countries.

Zimbabwe has a policy of mandatory blending of ethanol into gasoline in 10% and they intend to increase that gradually in the coming years.
