The Union of Sugarcane Industries (UNICA) will release new estimates for the harvest of 2011/12 in the South Central on Wednesday. The entity will also disclose accumulated data of milling, sugar and ethanol outuput in the beginning of the harvest in mid-April until the first day of July.
The entity is closing down its field research to close the new estimate. The expectation is that all numbers are revised downward. The previous forecast was 568.5 million tons of sugarcane. The market estimates that the reduction should be between 40 million and 50 million tons, which will impact the production of both sugar and ethanol.
