Small sugar producers shifting from EU to US


Sugar exporting developing nations are increasingly shifting away from the EU to the US in pursuit of greater market stability, delegates at the ISO London seminar have been told.

Paul Ryberg, president of the International Sugar Trade Coalition and Caribbean Basin Initiative USA, said a more stable policy environment in the US meant that developing countries were increasingly favouring it as an export market ahead of the EU.
