The Indian group Shree Renuka Sugars to sell their units of energy cogeneration from its plants Equipav and Revati, located in São Paulo state, by the end of December. The two plants were acquired from Equipav Group in 2010. The information is from newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo.
The cogeneration unit of Equipav Plant has a capacity of 130 MW and is already in operation. The unity of Revati is still under construction and should enter into operation only in April 2012. When running at full capacity, the total generation should be of 156 MW , but it should work with half this volume in the begining. In addition to CPFL, six other companies were vying for these cogeneration plants, according to a source of Estado de São Paulo.
The sale of cogeneration units of Renuka does not rule out the possibility of the company to sell 25% stake in its Brazilian holding company.
