Power consumption drops 1,1% in August
The preliminary measurement data were collected between the 1st and August 31st by Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization (CCEE). And they point reduction in consumption (-1.1%) and generation (-1.2%) of electricity in the country when compared to the same month in 2014.
The information contained in the latest edition of InfoMercado Semanal newsletter, of the CCEE, which brings data of generation and energy consumption beyond the current net contractual position of the free and special consumers.
The generation of performance review at the end of August, indicates that 59.624 averages MW of energy were delivered to the National Interconnected System (SIN).
The highlight follows the production of wind power plants with a record of 3.269 averages MW, an increase of 71,2% over the same month in 2014. The hydraulic power plants decreased by 1,2% to generation in the month with 39.868 averages MW.
The representation of the source, in relation to all the energy generated in the country, was 66,8%, similar to the rate recorded last year (66,9%).
