Pakistan wants to expand energy cogeneration system


A policy to expand the system of energy cogeneration from bagasse from sugar cane in Pakistan, was announced by the Economic Coordination Committee of the new government of Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, Musharraf and the Muslim.

The Pakistani government wants to persuade its 83 sugar mills to produce electricity on a commercial scale. Drawing on the experience of some pioneering projects already built in the industry and making use of all the resources to generate electricity to meet the acute needs that are causing social unrest, affecting industrial production and economic slowdown.

A meeting was convened by the government, inviting owners of mills and experts to discuss proposals for the generation of electricity from bagasse.
