MS exceeds 15 million tons grinded
The rain also affects the 2015/16 crop in Mato Grosso do Sul, but the units in operation already grinded just over 15 million tons of sugarcane.
“The volume is 26% above the grinding registered in the same period last season,” said for Portal JornalCana, Roberto Holanda Filho, president of the Association of Mato Grosso do Sul Bioenergy Producers (Biosul), during the event Ethanol Summit in São Paulo.
“The data [crushing 26% above the 14/15] is important, but we must remember that the last crop started very bad, due to the rain and frost reflections of 12/13, and this year we had recovery”, said.
“But the rain still hinder, but so far I keep my grinding forecasts”, amended, noting that the Mato Grosso do Sul state is the most mechanized of the sugarcane industry, with 97% index.
