Kenya’s raw sugar production is estimated to rise 5% , to 520,000 tons, in 2013, due to good weather and a bigger supply of cane, according to data from Kenya Sugar Board, reported by Reuters.

The country has an annual sugar deficit of around 200,000 tons, usually filled by imports from other producers in Africa.

According to KSB, Kenya produced 495,000 tons of sugar in 2012, down from a revised output of 501,000 tons the previous year.
