The crop 2015/16 started in the South Central region with evidences of increase in the production of hydrous ethanol.
As explained by Antonio Padua Rodrigues, technical director of União da Indústria de Cana-de-açúcar (Unica), there is no need to expand production of anhydrous, with high inventories.
The manufacture of sugar, caused by unattractive prices in the international market, it must maintain the same volumes of the last four years. These factors such factor will impel the allocation of the surplus for hydrous ethanol.
“We opened the crop with a large volume of anhydrous, we have enough stock for sale. Expand the production of sugar is not attractive, considering the low prices in the international market”.
