China sold 300,000 tons old sugar

China, the world’s second largest consumer after India, sold 300,000 tons of old white sugar stocks to the domestic market on January 26th to make room for new inventories, announced the Ministry of Commerce.

The sugar produced in 2011 will go to auction at a floor price of CNY5,430 ($867) per ton, the Ministry said in a statement released last week.
