Cargill to develop $200M corn ethanol plant in Iowa

In Minnesota, Alan Willits, Cargill Corn Milling presidentreaffirmed that the company is planning to spend $200 million to expand and retrofit their corn processing facility in Fort Dodge Iowa. In an interview with Reuters, Willits stated, “We want to be a part of that whether it’s serving our farm customers or our food customers. We don’t think we can be relevant to them if we don’t have some skin in the game relative to biofuels. That was one of the motivations to invest in that facility.”

The facility is slated for a target production of 115 MGy, with 200 employees and an opening date in the fourth quarter of 2013.
