Buses with diesel from sugar cane on the streets of Brazil this year

From the second half of the year, the first fleet of buses fueled with 10% diesel from sugar cane mixed with diesel oil will be on the streets of Sao Paulo.

Tests with the mixture showed a reduction in average 30% in emissions of gaseous pollutants measured by a device known as opacimeter.

For six months, three buses with the mixture (10% of diesel from sugar cane, 5% biodiesel and 85% fossil fuel) circulated through the streets.

Vehicles filled with the conventional mixture (5%) traveled the same paths the same conditions and and there was no difference in performance and fuel consumption.
