Brazilian sugar cane harvest is coming to an end in the Center South. And the total was higher than the last cycle. According to data from Unica, in the accumulated until November 15, crushing totaled 481.96 million tons, while in 2011 the figure stood at 478.75 million, an increase of 0, 67%.
“The figures confirm our expectations that the volume of sugarcane available for the production of sugar and ethanol this year is higher than in the 2011/12 harvest,” said Antonio de Padua Rodrigues.
Until the day November 15, 41 mills had shut down its operations in the Mid-South, against 166 units in the same period of 2011.
