Brazil: Curitiba now has hybrid bus

The Brazilian city of Curitiba is operating with the first fleet of hybrid buses produced in Brazil. Electrically powered and biodiesel, called hibribus, they reduce 90% pollutant emissions compared to vehicles driven today, plus 35% fuel consumption.

Another positive point relates to the noise, because the so-called hibribus is quieter, it does not emit noise in about 30% of its operating time.

The technology began to be manufactured in the country in June and was presented at the Rio +20 conference of the United Nations (UN) held in Rio de Janeiro, as an example of sustainable development.
