Australia – Sugar industry demands speed up of port repairs

Australian cane growers and millers have urged Port of Bundaberg operators to hurry up and do more dredging to allow bigger sugar ships to dock, ABC Rural reported.

The port has spent AUD2 mln ($1=AUD1.09) already on emergency dredging to move flood silt, but it needs to spend another AUD6 mln to dredge a further two metres to get the port back to full capacity.
